You will once you see our incredible cria.  Each and every one is a work of art, with it's individual personality, markings and outlook on life.  To know them is to love them...and we do!  As cria arrive, we will add them to this page.  As time permits, we will add them to the Youngsters page.  Yes...they are magic!

The Cria are here....

The entire 2008 cria crop has finally arrived at The Fuzzy Farm, and a more beautiful bunch you have never seen.  Each and every one, special in it's own way.  Help us welcome these new little lives and be sure to check back often to see how they are growing up.

A mere 18 days late,

TFF Lucky Thirteena (Teena)

arrived.  She is our 13th and last cria for 2008.  She is the daughter of Amigo's Chico (36" AMLA registered ministud) and Chilean I'm A Flirt (38" AMLA registration pending).  This tiny (14lb) gal is full of spunk and has incredible silky curly fiber.  No worry about her nursing, she was struggling to stand before we could get the membrane off her and nursing well before she was 45 minutes old.

TFF Dreamwalker

CCF Orian X George Girl

6/4/2008  23 pounds

Unbelieveable resemblance to his half brother Dreamweaver.  He has equally good looks and personality.  We are calling the boys Weaver & Walker.

TFF Dreamweaver

CCF Orian X Daffodilly

6/3/2008  22 pounds

When Dreamweaver arrived all we could say is "WOW".  He is really gorgeous and has a nice friendly personality as well.  Welcome little guy!

Argentine Early Bird

Argentine Gustavo X Argentine Tatiana

5/31/2008  17 pounds

Argentine Early Bird (EB) arrived about 4 - 4:30 am.  I had “slept in” that day and didn’t get out to the pasture until 6:15am and found a little gal cushed sternal still in a mostly dried membrane.  Since the sun had only been up about 30 min, I think she must have been a couple hours old at that point for the membrane to be dried.  The first thing I said to her was “Well, aren’t you the early bird?” which is where her name came from.   At last measure, Tatiana was 37 inches, so we may be right on target with our goal of Argentine minis!

TFF Sunset Skye

Bolivian Makin' Whoopee X Stage Stope Rosabelle

5/14/2008  21 pounds

Skye arrived in this world raring to go.  He was trying to nurse from his knees before he got control of his legs enough to stand.  His coloring is a total surprise and we think, quite beautiful.  Hooray for this gorgeous boy!  We had been saying that we didn't have a Whoopee boy to carry on...now we find we have two new ones...Dude and Skye and co-ownership of Trooper.  Well, you can never have too much Whoopee can ya!

TFF Dolce

Argentine Norino X Mystic Purl
5/13/2008  24.6 lbs.

This little gal was up and looking for the milk bar within 30 minutes...found it and went to work.  Her name means sweet in Italian.

TFF Fortulla (Tulla)

Argentine Norino X Llanaro's Liana
5/4/2008  23 lbs.

Arrived 8 days early and had a bit of a learning curve.  By her due date, she was 100%.  7/8th's Argentine, 1/8th RE, looks like we have a real beauty here.

And now, back to our regularly scheduled website......

The Fuzzy Farm is a relatively young, rapidly growing farm located in Gloucester, Virginia.  We specialize in beautiful, good natured llamas and alpacas.  In November of 2002, we went to pick up a small herd of miniature and small llamas.  These llamas formed the base of our miniature herd.  Miniature llamas, unlike miniature horses or donkeys, are perfectly proportioned animals.  They do not have heads that are too large and legs that are too short.  They are perfect little llamas.  In fact, unless you have a frame of reference in a photograph, you cannot tell whether the llama is full sized or miniature.  This is a picture of one of our herdsires, Bolivian Makin' Whoopee who is registered with the AMLA as a true mini.    When a 5'4" person stands next to him, the tips of his ears are at eyebrow level.  What you have is all the personality and charm of the llama, in a smaller, easier to handle package.  A great advantage in Public Relation situations when a full sized animal could be intimidating.  Many people who want a companion animal or pet would welcome the smaller size.  In addition, they eat less and require less room.  Miniature llamas that meet the standards of the AMLA can be registered.  They must first be registered by the ILR and then they must not exceed 38" at the withers at 3 years of age to be registered as minis or if female, 40" to be registered as foundation stock.  Be sure to visit our Mini Llama page to see our beautiful additions.  We have also added Argentine Llamas to our family.  I guess we go for the extremes.  Argentines are noted for their strong bone and awesome fiber.  They are generally wooly all the way down to between their toes. The farm continues to evolve with new additions and new achievements.  Life is exciting isn't it!

Thanks for visiting....Come back often

We are located at 3321 Rich Lane, Saluda, VA. 23149   We do live in Gloucester, but due to zip code "things" we are listed in Saluda.  If using a mapping program, use Glenns as the city...Weird huh?
